Carbon Neutral Farming – the UK has plans for it

UK farmers have pledged to become carbon neutral in twenty years. This means that food and resource production will not add to the growing emissions. This is awesome but it won’t happen overnight and is calling for some big changes in the way that farmers do things.

One of the big concerns in the amount of methane produced by cows and sheep through their bodily functions. Part of the plan includes reducing the amount as well as capturing the gas from manure and using it to heat homes instead of the atmosphere. Farmers will also utilize more advanced technology to apply chemicals to crops to cut down on the pollution.

Agrofarming and different practices to encourage crops to capture more CO2 will also help bring the emission number closer to zero. The plan has been well received and is one step to making the world more sustainable for everyone.
