Photo sender.

Dosize. Resize and send your digital photos in 3 easy online steps. Select and upload image, choose size, email to friends. Photos are deleted after 30 minutes and no email addresses are stored by the free service (according to their privacy statement). Looks like a pretty useful site if you ask me. (And yes of course you can right mouse click the image file name, Send to, Mail Recipient, Show more Options, but this is still cool.)  We are a group…

Open says a me.

The Xipper CD opener. Ever struggled to open a CD box? You know, get the plastic wrap off? Yeah well, this puppy might be top of your wish list then. Awesomely useful. $7.95.  With the Xipper opener, just press the button to release the safety and then pull it along three sides of the case. The small blade cuts through the plastic wrap and tape seals, making it a snap to open. When finished, release the safety and the blade retracts….

The Braille Book.

Sergio Trujillo’s Braille Book (or bBook) is an electronic book for the blind that looks interesting. Faintly iPod like, it raises and lowers small nodules to simulate the Braille language. It’s got rechargeable batteries and uses Bluetooth to grab it’s eBook material. Nice idea indeed, but is it a better option than audio books? Only time and the customer reaction will tell.

Beeplet.

Beeplet. Reminders for forgetful people. You know, birthdays, anniversaries, meetings. That kind of thing. Sure we know you’ve got a mobile phone with alarms, but that’s not so much Web 2.0 pastel green fun, is it? Dufus.

The Grilliput.

The Grilliput Pocket BBQ. Awesome idea. Super portable barbecue rack, just add your own fire. £24.99 ($40.23).  this ridiculously compact camping grill is about the cleverest piece of design we’ve seen in an age. At only 29cm long and 2.2cm wide you can stash it anywhere, and when you’re feeling peckish open it up into a 23x26cm BBQ. No more lugging hefty BBQs out to the park, into the woods or down to the beach, just pop the diminutive Grilliput…

Thor Shield anti stun fabric.

Thor Shield Energy Weapon Protection Fabric is apparently ‘100% effective against all non-lethal energy weapons on the market today’. Don’t want to get stun gunned? Tasers make you itch? Then you probably need to run up a quick suit of this stuff. If they’ll sell it to ya. More here.

Schmap.

Schmap. Superb travel tool built around an uber clever player which you download and which combines detailed information on city features with Flikr photos, animated tour guides and a places of interest search engine etc. Limitation – not that many maps as yet, and performance could be better. But once it’s fully populated it will be an awesome resource for travellers. They’ll need to make it mobile phone friendly at some point too.

Bluebottle spam killer.

Bluebottle. 100% effective spam protection. It says here. Free and premium versions. Worth a look.  Bluebottle’s Email Verification (Challenge/Response) feature is similar to having your own gatekeeper. It works by not allowing any email to be delivered to your inbox unless the sender.s address is on your allowed list. When an email is received from an address not on your allowed list the email is held and a verification request is returned to the sender. Once the sender responds to…

Suckerfish HoverLightbox.

The Suckerfish HoverLightbox is a super cool piece of AJAX tech from Jon Christopher, above and beyond Lightbox JS which is cool enough itself. Basically it’s an image gallery application which shows thumbnails and exploded images in place on the webpage via Javascript love and goodness. Go try it out.  Being that Suckerfish, Hoverbox, and Lighbox were all written in an organized and straightforward fashion, combining them was fairly simple. I left the JavaScript files controlling the Suckerfish and Lightbox…
