The Checkpoint Flyer is a special type of laptop bag. Apart from looking pretty cool it’s designed to streamline it’s way through airport bag inspections, especially in the US. The Flyer has been designed so you don’t need to remove the laptop from the bag for it to be x-rayed yet it still complies with the Transportation Security Administration guidelines.
The Flyer is divided into three main sections, each a discrete bag. There’s the brightly coloured front pouch, the detachable laptop storage bag and the main compartment. All up there’s about 15 litres of storage.
The laptop storage bag is sold separately so you can upgrade/downgrade it depending on which computer you’re travelling with or even if you change machines later on. The bag itself is made of water-resistant ballistic Nylon and Cordura, with millions of 10 pockets and top quality YKK zippers. It’s US$220 for the Flyer and US$70 for your choice of laptop bag.
The Checkpoint Flyer Briefcase is the result of an intensive, five-month design challenge presented by the TSA (Transportation Security Administration): design a laptop bag that offers airport security x-ray screeners a clear view of the laptop while it is still inside of the laptop bag.
