Cirrus3 CR250 – the ultimate virus killing machine

Cirrus250

This nondescript looking Cirrus3 box apparently slaughters 99.9999% of ‘pathogenic airborne and surface bacteria and viruses’.  The device, which is really just a glorified air filter I guess, is designed for public areas like waiting rooms, lobbies and other places where nasty stuff spreads quickest. It comes in various sizes/capacities and costs from £4000.00 upwards.

The unique technology contained in the Cirrus3 manufactures a continual stream of hydroxyl radicals that are found in abundance in the natural environment and destroy any harmful bacteria in the outside air. To recreate fresh air indoors the Cirrus3 combines UV light with extremely low levels of ozone and mixes it with volatile hydrocarbons (given off by plants) to create the Hydroxyl Radicals. It’s all perfectly safe and leaves the air pure, clean, fresh and germ-free.

  • It does sound too good to be true. I’ve read some more info about it that suggests it’s a lot more than just an air filter. For this thing to work, it doesn’t need to filter or process the air in a room at all. It achieves its decontamination effect by pumping out a steady stream of these hydroxl radicals that kill bugs by robbing them of a hydrogen atom. It’s essentially the same process that white blood cells such as neutrophils that produce oxygen radicals use to kill invading pathogens. And apparently it is the same process that occurs in natural fresh air. So to call this device just an air purifier or filter is completely wrong.
