I’m really fascinated by the relentless drive to open up the Web to all comers as publishers. Weblogs are one cool example, but also coming up fast in the offside lane are simple automated content publishers, which offer non-tech users a quick and easy way to publish to a ready templated site.
Macromedia’s Contribute2 is a good corporate oriented example, but I’m really quite impressed with CityDesk, which at first glance looks to be a no-brainer in terms of publishing simplicity. To be perfect it needs to ship with some way of auto-generating ready to go templates (the third party Template Wizards add-in is still a bit complicated) but it’s a nice start.
