Climate change is going to affect everyone, all over the world but Africa will feel many of its changes particularly hard. A number of factors will make this coming reality of the climate very hard for the continent and although not every country will be hit the same way, forecasts suggest that they will all bear the burden of it.
The continent’s food sources are tied into the climate as they rely heavily on natural rainfall rather than extensive irrigation for their crops. Food scarcity is a major issue with climate change and it’s likely they will be hit with it strongly.
Another large issue is the fact that the weather on the continent is controlled by both local and more large scale systems means it will be vulnerable in ways that other continents are not. All is not hopeless though, there is still time to begin to build and implement infrastructure that will help to weather the coming changes.
