CLOO lets you rent out your bathroom to those in need

How many times have you been out, and needed to use the bathroom? Sure, it happens fairly often. But what about those times when you really need to go, and you’re nowhere near a public restroom? No one likes to find them in this situation, but there are times when it is unavoidable. Your choices in this case are very limited. You can try and hold it until you can get to a gas station or something, or you can try knocking on a stranger’s door and hoping that they are uncommonly generous. Sometime next spring, you’ll have a new option, called CLOO.

No, this isn’t some sort of strange toilet that folds up into your back pocket. It’s an upcoming iPhone app that lets you search for a nearby bathroom that you can rent. The bathrooms are provided by other users of the app who have listed their facilities for rent. Am I the only one that can’t imagine having strangers stop by just to go to the bathroom and leave? And without a large user base, there’s no way this is going to take off. I suppose if you have a location with a lot of foot traffic, you might get some hits now and then, but I can’t imagine you’d make enough for it to be worth your while.

  • I predict this will rapidly be sued by the Cloo network, formerly Sleuth.
