What would the world be like if we could all tell if everyone was telling the truth or not? Would that make things better or worse? The idea is so radical that there was a huge selling book about it called The Truth Machine (free download available here), which offered up a rather surreal view of a world where truth was the only way of life.
This Cocoro Lie Detector Headset won’t bring about that reality, simply because it’s more of a game than a real life truth machine, but it’s interesting anyway. The device works by reading changes in your pulse. If the lamp flashes green you’re being truthful, if it’s yellow you’re not being completely honest and if it goes red, well then you’re definitely telling porky pies.
The really interesting thing about the game is the fact that you can’t see what the light is flashing, which should make for some fun times all round. Especially if you’re one of those nervous types who gets flustered even if you are telling the truth. All in all, something to enjoy for a laugh, but probably not to rely on when discovering who stole the last Snickers bar from the kitchen. Priced at $51.
