In case you were wondering how cheap mobile phones can get, we thought we would introduce the $11 Daxian W111 from China. This handset is designed for use by the elderly, so it features large buttons and a handy little SOS button.
From what we can tell, the specs of the phone are everything you’d expect from a low end product of this type, with a 2 inch color screen, standard GSM reception, and a 12 key keyboard. There may or may not be some sort of camera involved, but difficult to tell from the Google Translate-ese.
Surprisingly the handset also comes with a built in FM radio and a flashlight function, and apparently the battery life seems to be pretty good too. And just in case you’ve forgotten, the retail price of this puppy is $11 (£7). Think about it.
