Disable startup programs to make your computer boot faster

When you press the power button on your computer, you want it to be ready to use as quickly as possible. Unfortunately if you’ve had it for a while, you might start to notice that it takes longer and longer to get up and running. There are plenty of causes for this, one of which is that there may be a lot of programs all trying to start at the same time. If you’re a tech-savvy person, you probably know how to fix this issue, but if not, you might want to check out this guide.

The guide walks you through disabling a majority of your startup programs. This is good to do, because while most programs think they’re needed as soon as you start your computer, the reality is that they aren’t. Your two main choices for doing this are to use msconfig, a tool built into Windows, or a free utility called CCleaner. Either way, if you can cut down that list of software, you should notice your PC loading a bit faster when you turn it on.
