DittoForm – the dressform that’s made just for you

Dittoform

Dressforms are not usually considered techy products. This one is the exception to that rule. The DittoForm is a dressform individually made using 3D scanning technology to perfectly conform to the owner.

Normal dressforms generally come in two types, a fixed size and the kind that you can adjust. Either of these options do not perfectly conform to the body of the dress wearer. The DittoForm is based on the exact body of the person who will use it. So no two forms are alike. The process is fine for either a man or a woman and gives a form from the neck to the mid-thigh.

The body is made of foam so that garment pieces can be pinned to it. The process of making it involves converting the 3D data into slices that can then be cut individually and put together to form the whole dressform. Right now this service is only available in the Washington DC area but the makers will work on ways to expand to other locations if there is an interest. You can purchase a DittoForm for $495.
