Those of us who are serious about doing home repair and DIY stuff will know how important it is to have the right set of tools to hand at all times. OK, so perhaps it’s more important to have the number of an emergency electrician or plumber after you’ve finished hacking your way through some major service arteries on your way to putting up that shelf, but you know what we mean. Well now those nice people at Dremel have stepped up to help.
The Dremel 3000 Home Repair Kit is a boxed set of tools and accessories which are designed to make it easy to fix anything you need to fix in your home. Well almost. Those familiar with Dremel will know that the small multi-tool is really good for small jobs which require high speed (10,000 to 30,000 rpm) drilling, carving, engraving type functionality, rather than the larger scale ‘let’s put up a tree-house’ type stuff. This doesn’t make it less useful, just different useful.
At the heart of the kit is the multi-tool itself, which can sharpen other tools, finish off small sanding jobs like smoothing holes, engrave onto metal, pipe cutting, cut out shapes from wood and other materials and generally act as a pretty efficient motorized apprentice in the workshop. Basically the thing is perfect for those fiddly little jobs which need something powerful and accurate.

The kit comes with 105 accessories and a home renovation booklet intended to inspire, and you get a nice blue soft bag to contain it all, so there’s no excuse for losing bits. You know who you are! The price for all this DIY, hobbyist coolness is just £76.98, which we reckon is a real nerd bargain.
