DSCOVR:EPIC – check out the Earth in real time

Space is vast and full of wonder but our little blue marble is pretty neat too. You’re likely familiar with the what the earth looks like from space but it changes daily. NASA has started a site that will share images of what the Earth looks like as it moves through its yearly cycle.

The images are about a week behind (cut them some slack, they come from SPACE) but you can see a full view of what the earth looks like as it rotates for the day. See storms as they brew or the way the colors change as seasons pass.

You don’t have to look at it every day but you can check it out if you’re ever wondering if something was big enough to see from space. It’s a great tool to share with young learners or just to squelch some curiosity. Check out the website for your daily dose of Earth.
