Pioneer Electronics has announced the Elite DVR-57H, the world’s first DVD recorder machine to incorporate a TiVo service. So now not only can you use TiVo to automatically record your favourite shows or series whether you’re in or out, but you can then archive the lot onto DVD-R or DVD-RW.

This sounds like the kind of product which is really going to change the way we access television programming in the future. And – get this – it also incorporates the facility to hook up your VCR to transfer all your old VHS tapes to DVD. Bring it on! Available later this year in the US in an 80GB hard drive model ($1199.00) and a 120GB model ($1800.00).
