Embedit.in (geddit?) is a new service which makes it super easy to embed documents into a web page. Just upload the doc, customise the look and size, set privacy, print and download settings and stick the embed code into your blog post or website page code. The result is a nice little box with the document inside which can be read, navigated and operated on accordingly.
You get annotation tools and analytics as part of the package, as well as a nice little admin section from where you can manage your embedded documents wherever they may be. On its own this isn’t that earth shaking, but when it’s added to the other component type products out there, like wufoo.com and setster.com, and you can see a pattern emerge of a web with embedded technology adding value all over the place. Interesting.
Note that once you add the embed code to your website, further changes you make to annotation, privacy, print and download permissions are automatically propagated to the embed on your website. Any changes you make to the height, width and background color of the embed will require you replace the embed code with the newly generated code.
