Emoze – the free email BlackBerry killer?

Emoze is a new free email and PIM push service that works on just about any Microsoft or Symbian powered smartphone or PDA. The key fact is that unlike other mobile email programs, this one supports push, in other words you don’t have to log in, the software sends your messages to you as they arrive at the server. What’s more they claim to outstrip BlackBerrys for speed of delivery. And did we mention that it’s free? Which makes it sound all a little bit too good to be true, but hey what do we know? Check out also Smartner for a comparison.

  * Compatible with Microsoft Mobile or Symbian devices that have a GPRS or other data connection with Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Exchange, Lotus Notes Domino servers and POP3 online email services such as Hotmail, Yahoo! and Gmail * Supports all major brands of mobile handsets including Nokia, Samsung, and Motorola * Service is independent of network technology and works on any wireless GSM, CDMA or Wi-Fi network including 2.5G and 3G such as WCDMA/UMTS, CDMA2000, 802.xx, Wi-Max, GPRS (2.5G), EDGE, CDMA 1xRTT, CDMA 1xEVDO, etc.

  • Hey, if it’s free then they won’t make any money, and if they don’t have any money, maybe NTP won’t sue them ;)

  • Plus you have to leave your computer on as long as you want the info forwarded! Hope you don’t have power issues or the computer crashes…

  • There is a similar product provided by which works perfectly without having none of this rubbish of leaving your pc on.

  • Is it just me or is this just stupid?

Who cares if it takes 1 or 10 minutes to get your email. What matters is that you get it securely which I think only Blackberry can currently guarantee.

I dont know how many subsribers Blackberry have, but I wonder if Emoze will be as quick with as many.
