Enso – memory resident macros

Enso

Mmm…much hype coming our way from the folks at Humanised, with the launch of Enso. As far as I can tell it’s a Windows utility which gives you memory resident super macros. Er…it’s cute, but not really rocket science and certainly not to my mind worth the launch splash or Walt Mossberg’s attention. Ah well, what do I know?

I don’t mean to be snarky but I get the feeling that these good folk are charging $24.95 for a utility that some whizz kid in a back bedroom may well deliver as an Open Source Firefox plug-in real soon now. I jest of course, but you get the drift. The freeware programs Fast Launcher and Shortkeys Lite are almost there already.

  • Haven’t heard of “Fast Launcher”. Will check it out. Shortkeys is nice, have to see the latest version though. There are other freewares along similar lines –

    Launchy, Colibri, and SlickRun.

I didn’t like Colibri much, but with Launchy and Slickrun, I’ve stopped using my “Start Menu’ altogether. And the latest version of Launchy is even more impressive!
