Ferrety forecast.

A Ferret forecast? That next year we’ll see the start of an explosion in colour laser printer sales. Prices of products like the Minolta QMS Magicolour range are already down to about 500, which is just about the price that inkjets were when they started becoming popular all those years ago.

I’ve been playing with one of these – the engine is also in a number of other printers from people like Epson – and it’s really very good. Resolution is good enough for photographs on plain paper, they’re fast and of course, most importantly, the cost per copy is ridiculously low compared to inkjet. Watch this space!!!
