Flashpoint – the project to save Flash games

The internet is changing, it’s not like it once was. One of those changes is the loss of flash games. The once ubiquitous games that could be found on every website are going to go bye bye with Flash Player at the end of this year. BlueMaxima is trying to save them.

Flash games were really common. If you’re in your 30 or 40s now, you’ve probably got memories of playing all types of them from the single creator projects found on personal websites all the way to commercial products. If you didn’t waste an afternoon here or there trying to get the high score on something, I don’t know what you did with your youth.

The project, titled Flashpoint, is working to archive all of the Flash games that are out there. It has already managed to grab 36,000 of them! You can download them and play through their open source platform. Have fun reliving the glory days.
