Galileo Pan-and-Tilt lets you follow real-time action from afar

Whenever you try and talk to someone through FaceTime on your iOS device, it can be a little bit challenging to get everyone into the frame. Whether it’s a meeting, a birthday, or just chatting with a long distance friend, keeping everything perfectly in the view of the camera is a nightmare. You might miss something important or exciting just because your iPhone was tilted too far one way or another.

The Galileo is an iOS controlled robotic iPhone stand that will swivel wherever you tell it to go. Swiping a finger across your screen will move Galileo on the other end of the conversation. This will make things a zillion times easier for those of us who like to shoot videos, and take regular or 360 degree photographs as it will both be stable, and doesn’t have to rely on shaky hands to adjust it. Apart from the more artistic ventures, you can also apply it to whatever other existing apps you like, or make completely new ideas with this technology as they have released a software development kit (SDK). The stand is compatible with iPhone 4, 4S and the 4th generation iPod Touch. It can however, be controlled by the iPhone 3, 4, 4S, iPad 2, and 3, 4th gen. iPod Touch, and web browser. This is currently a Kickstarter project, but it has over exceeded its funding, and still has a little under a month to go. If you hop on the bandwagon, it will cost you $95 for one, or $160 for two.
