GIFPop – Bringing GIFs to life in real life

The Internet comes to life with GIFs, those fun animated photos that let us enjoy everything from animated, oddly-shaped Garfields flying through the air to Tom Hiddleston’s Loki pushing a child down, but it’s fun that can only be had online because the real world only has boring photos that don’t move. Until now.

Lenticular photos – those trippy photos that make it look as if a picture is moving as the viewing angle changes – have been around since the 1940s, but GIFPop brings them into the 21st century by using the classic technique to make GIFs just as lively in print as they are online.

The process is pretty simply for people that want their very own hardcopy GIFs, with options allowing you to either choose a pre-made GIF that was designed by an artist or upload your own. If you want to get in on the moving picture fun but don’t have any GIFs that really call out to you, there’s even an option to upload two photos and have a lenticular image created from those.

Keep in mind that not all images are created equal, and fuzzy, low-res GIFs will result in fuzzy, low-res prints, and there’s a maximum number of 10 photos that can be used in one image to insure the highest quality possible.

Print sizes range from business card to a 5-inch square, and prices are $12 to $15 each, depending on the size you choose.
