We record everything that happens in our lives these days. Everything can be a little mini movie, your memories forever in digial format but wouldn’t it be great to take all your magical moments out of the digital space into the physical world? The Giphoscope lets you turn your GIFs into an interactive motion photo.
The Giphoscope is a device that lets you turn your GIFs, short videos, or still photos into a hand cranked motion photo. It’s based on the old timey device, the Mutoscope which was a single view flip book. Insert a penny and get a show. The difference is with the Giphoscope, you, the viewer, can control the picture. Replay the same 3 seconds over and over or watch the whole thing on endless repeat. The only thing stopping you is your strength in your wrist.
You can use your own videos for the process. They can be custom made for this project or something that you had lying around that makes you happy. You can also use still photographs. Whatever your choice, the company will have them printed onto the cards that makes the flip book. The Giphoscope starts at €249.
