Google Labs has released a few new Google search ‘experiments’, the most interesting of which is the Alternate Views version. This gives you a timeline of search results as well as a map view of your results along with dates, locations and other contextual information. It’s pretty neat and although the timeline generally looks a little sparse, there’s definitely a future for this kind of detailed information when you’re doing serious research. Check it out.
See results on a timeline, map, or in context of other information types. With these views, Google’s technology extracts key dates, locations, measurements, and more from select search results so you can view the information in a different dimension. Timeline and map views work best for searches related to people, companies, events and places. Info view shows all the data found for each result, to help you select the best choice.
