Google Wave Add-on For Firefox – free plugin brings Wave to your browser

Googlewavefirefoxaddon

I’ve been playing around with Google Wave for a few days now, and it’s definitely a fascinating piece of technology. The idea is to drag email and text communications into the 21st century by restructuring the way we chat with each other.

As with all innovative tech, it’s going to take a while to see what benefit this initiative will bring to the table, but I’m tending to agree with Daniel Tenner in his view that at the very least it’s going to turn out to be a great collaborative tool for getting work done with teams rather than a Facebook or Twitter destroyer.

Whatever the guesstimates, there’s clearly something radically significant about the launch of this platform which we won’t see until the rumoured Tsunami (heh) of products start arriving on the scene from 3rd party developers, at which point all should become crystal.

In the meantime, for those with invites, here’s a handy Google Wave Firefox Addon which gives you notification of Wave activity in the status bar. A bit redundant since Wave is browser based anyway, but what the heck.
