Groupola – group buying kicks off at last…slowly

Groupola

Groupola is a new service which promises to deliver lower prices through collective bargaining. The site emails daily offers to subscribers, with discounts of around 50% and more at times, which go live when enough people sign up to accept them. It’s not a new idea, Salescoop and CrowdSprout were early stillborn efforts in the genre, but as far as we know Groupola is the first which has actually opened its doors to the public.

Will this one work? Who knows, the interesting thing is the fact that they’re taking each city individually (UK only at the moment) which might make the difference – think global, act local eh? One to watch.

To get the savings, each deal requires an agreed minimum number of participants before the deal goes live. Deals typically run for 24 hours and may last a few days’.. So sign up, spread the word amongst your friends, family and work colleagues.. Once a deal is complete, you’ll receive a voucher in your Groupola account. Simply present this to the merchant and enjoy the savings.
