Gtalk2VoIP – IM gets SIP and PSTN power

Gtalk2voip

Gtalk2VoIP is a totally fascinating service which links together IM services like Google Talk, MSN and Yahoo! Messenger with SIP phones and ordinary landlines and lets you make voice calls between them all. What makes this different is that everything is controlled from your instant messenger program of choice, which is a pretty cool way of handling things.

The help and setup interface is still a little too…ahem…rustic for my liking, but the concept looks great and they have done a plug-in for Google Desktop that sports a nicer interface. Here’s a tip guys – do a Firefox extension as quick as you can! Bookmark this puppy, it’s definitely one to watch.

GTalk2VoIP is a free and publicly open voice gateway for major Instant Messenger clients. It make possible voice interoperability between Google Talk, MSN/Live Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger and SIP phones. Originally, the gateway was developed with Google Talk support only (and made calls to PSTN), from which it derived its name.

  • There’s already Firefox extention from Gizmo, btw :).

  • Yes, I know about that one, I was hoping for a Gtalk2VoIP one maybe. :-)

  • Nowadays there is a lot of IM application for mobile phone. I have try out turbo MSN, etc.

Up to now, I find out that there is a good application to share with you guys here. Anyone heard of mig33? The application allows us to use Instant Messenger [Yahoo, MSN, and AOL], cheap calls, SMS and chat room. You can have a try on the application at http://www.mig33.com

Other than that, the application is free to download. There will be only charges for GPRS usage [Telco charge] and mig33 will only charge for voice calls and SMS only. Others like chat room and IM are all free.

After I notice about this application, I have deleted all my previous IM because I prefer to use this. Everything builds in one application. That’s sound great.
