Gtech AirRam Vacuum sounds too good to be true

There is one chore that is both easy and simultaneously hard to do at the same time: vacuuming. You have to do it at a certain time of day to not rouse the neighbors (if you have any), you need to plan your route so you don’t run out of cord, and you also need to have a trash bag at the ready to empty out the dust without it flying everywhere. There’s also maintenance, and lugging it around everywhere that adds to this task. Once turned on, it’s only a matter of going a few passes over the floor, but it’s the other bits that can make it obnoxious.

If you want a vacuum cleaner that removes most of the fuss that comes with sweeping up, the AirRam thinks it will fill the spot. It’s cordless, compresses the dust into tiny bales, and is quite lightweight. It’ll cost you $255, and the spare battery will tack on another $300. You’ll likely want both if you get it, because it can only hold a 40 minute charge. This thing wasn’t built for additional attachments though, which means it’s strictly for the floor, and it likely does best on hardwood and tile. Could this vacuum be of use as a replacement if your current one dies? Well, seeing as there’s not much extra that makes this thing special, I’d wager a no.
