HD Video Sunglasses – capture your world on video for just $50

Everyone may be talking about the new Google Glass technology and how it will revolutionize the world, but you can start to play around with lifelogging with video for much less than they’re going to charge for their toy.

These HD Video Sunglasses [translate] for example may not have the cool of the Google product, but they will capture HD 720p video and store it on a microSD card up to 32GB in size. It’s easy to use, just tap the record button and from then on you’re capturing video totally hands-free, and it will grab audio for you as well.

It charges via USB (around 4 hours for a full charge) and once you get back to base you can dump all your footage into the computer using the same USB cable. The video is captured as .AVI which is nice and standard, and the 5 megapixel camera will consume around 1.4GB of space for every 10 minutes footage. Which means you should get 20 mins on a 32MB card.

The remarkable thing about the product however, is not the looks or the functionality, but the price. At just $50 (or 4980 Yen in Japanese), they’re a bargain we reckon.
