Heider CF1 Flashlight – 300 meters of lighting power enough for you?

So there are flashlights and there are flashlights. Your ordinary, grown in the garden variety will probably throw out a bit of light for 20 meters or so, and you’ll be very happy to have it when you’re staggering through the dark woods on the way to grandma’s house.

But for those who feel the need, the need for illumination – know what we mean? – there are better options. Like this Heider CF1 Flashlight, which offers three stage variable output (high, low and SOS) and at the top setting can throw out some serious light to around 300 meters.

Now we’re not saying that length is everything (some specs on battery life would be useful in this context we’re thinking) but boy that’s a lot of light from a small package. The flashlight is also apparently water resistant and comes with something called an ‘optical focus feature’ which we’re not too sure about. And the current price for all this technological brilliance (geddit?) is a mere $49.90. Bargain.

  • Just so happens I bought one on 05 October including AA size 3.7 volt rechargeable battery and a special charger for that battery type.

    € 22,91complete with postage.

The strength of the beam is indeed very impressive.
Only downside is that it alternates between strobe/full-beam/half-beam so if you want a particular setting you might have to switch on and off a couple of times until the right one comes round.

    • Oh interesting. And what about battery life?

    • They promised about 5 hours but I haven’t kept it on that long. I’m quite satisfied for quick searches for the dog late at night.

    • Cool. Thanks.
