Hypnotic Jellyfish Aquarium – a very chill alternative to a real tank

Aquariums are awesome. They’re very soothing to watch and maintain. Fish are quiet pets who don’t need a lot of emotional support. Awesome. Even more awesome, aquariums that contain jellyfish. Downside, these are expensive and need a lot of care. Not to worry, the Hypnotic Jellyfish Aquarium is the low cost, cool alternative.

First things first, these aren’t real jellyfish. Sorry but these two jellies are 100% synthetic. In fact the whole thing gives me very Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep vibes. The care and interaction with an “animal” that isn’t real at all. Anyway, this thing is basically a really nice mood light for your desk.

It has 18 color changing LED lights that will change the colors of the jellyfish as they float in their tiny tank. They are moved by the currents created by the motor in the device in a relaxing, underwater dance. It’s nice. Plugs into the standard outlet and automatically shuts off after four hours of use. You can get your hands on this for $89.95.
