The i-Kids Safety Device. Ho-hum, another day, another i product. Actually today we’ve got three i products. Is that a record? Is i the new black? Do we iCare? Anyway, where were we? Ah yes…um…here we have a little GPS box with panic button and a £15.75 a month subscription plan, which is probably slightly less than you’d pay to feed and house a very large and loyal Rottweiler.
A one-touch emergency button allows your child to alert you immediately in times of distress and GPS features ensure you can pin-point their location to within 10-20 metres, in seconds.
The phone has programmable numbers so that mum and dad’s mobile can be rung. It can receive SMS but not send. Mum and dad can check on a map or by text the location of the phone. And set safety zones – I dunno – school ? home? scouts? sports (you can have 3), and be SMS’d if the phone goes out of the zone. As a GPS/LBS device it’s pretty groovy. And you don’t have to take it for walks everyday or stop if from chewing the children. :P
