Icron’s WiRanger Wireless USB Hub is a great bit of tech by the looks of it, but at a pretty steep price. The product offers 4 USB sockets which are connected at USB 2.0 speeds via WiFi (802.11g) which makes for a very nice alternative to the usual cable tangle USB experience. But to sell it for $395.00 is maybe a bit too far? Nevertheless, fab tech.
The WiRanger is the world’s first wireless USB 2.0 Hub, combining Icron’s patented ExtremeUSB technology and an industry standard 802.11g radio. The WiRanger Hub enables wireless connection of USB devices including printers, scanners, web cams, hard drives, and MP3 players. As with all of Icron’s products, no software drivers are required for operation, and the WiRanger operates out of the box as a plug-and-play solution for Windows and MAC O/S.
