Communicating during travel can be difficult if you don’t speak the language of the country you’re in. There are apps but these are sometimes difficult to work with, especially if wi-fi isn’t that great where you happen to be at. The illi is a true pocket translator for your travel needs.
This little white box does not need wi-fi to work and is loaded up with common travel phrases to help you get around in a foreign country. Currently it is only for English to Spanish, Japanese, or Mandarin. It only comes with one language per device but more can be added through updates.
The battery life lasts about three days but only when used around 10 times a day. The idea isn’t to be something that is leaned on constantly but instead used to get the most important information across such as “Where is the bathroom?” or “Which way to the library?”. It will be on sale in November and will cost $249.
