Every household has an array of cleansers tucked into a cabinet somewhere. Most contain harsh chemicals that we’ve become used to using . But there are greener alternatives.
The latest of these is the Immerse-A-Clean wand, by Texas-based GenEon Technologies. This industrial cleaning device can turn regular tap water into an effective sanitizer, glass and all-purpose cleaner, using only electricity and a non-toxic catalyst. This is a compact, portable and battery-powered device that uses a bucket or other container that can be filled with water from a regular tap. Then just add the wand inside and presto – instant cleaning!
The catalyst of a proprietary blend of minerals added to the water creates an effective, grease-cutting cleanser. It’s been thoroughly tested at the Toxics Use Reduction Institute at the University of Massachusetts Results show that “it performs as well or better than the leading cleaners and degreasers on dirt, grime and soil when used as directed.”
The Immerse-A-Clean wand available should be available for purchase by late in the first quarter of 2014, at a target price of US $,995 to $2,100. Not inexpensive but over time it will generate some savings – and no more chemicals!
It claims to create electrolyzed water, which is essentially a weak bleach solution.
