iModela 3D Milling Machine

Some of us have a very particular taste in toys. Perhaps it’s just because we have indeed grown up as they say, but our choice in action figures has certainly become more refined. A very select few of us have dreams of making our own toys, and making them to our own specifications, but that is an impossible dream for a regular Joe…or was, I should say.

The iModela 3D Milling Machine is a 3D printer that can make any mini toy or action figure you so desire. All you need is $1,000, the associated software, and quite a bit of time. Anything you would want to make can be at your fingertips, so long as it is a small figurine, and you have the choice of making it out of plastic, wax, balsa wood, or foam. You still have to paint the bugger at the end of this lengthy process, but it’s always worth it to see a project go through its various stages. Plus you get the satisfaction of knowing you created it yourself.

  • If you are doing lost wax casting, this might be a handy little tool to generate your design rather then tediously carving by hand.
