iPhone Weight Loss Tracking Scale

When you decide that you want to start losing weight, chances are you’ll want to keep track of each decimal of loss. Not that you’re being overly obsessed, just that you need to make sure you’re losing a healthy amount over time as opposed to dropping it all too quickly. It seems that storing that information is best kept through apps, but should you hit the wrong number when typing in numbers, or forget to type them in, that could make quite the difference at the end of the week.

This is likely why the iHealth Scale was invented. This is a digital bathroom scale that utilizes Bluetooth to send your weight information directly to your phone. It comes with a free application that can track this info up to 16 feet away. If this was the only function of the scale and app, I would say that its price of $70 might be a bit much. However, the app allows you to track food intake, exercise routines, and calculates the calories you take in and use to help you achieve your goals more efficiently. It does have a weight limit of 330-lbs, and can display either pounds or kilograms.

  • I received the IHealth scale as a gift. Pretty much the worst bluetooth to iPad device I have ever encountered. The scale requires you to pair it each time you weigh yourself which is cumbersome and time consuming. There was a difference of around 100 pounds between the recorded weight and the weight reported to the iPad.

The software was very bad. Sure it keeps track of what you eat as long as it's in their database. Try to find peanut butter or jelly or steak or potatoes. I'd say 80-90 percent of the stuff I entered returned "no record".

I called for support. A very nice woman promised someone would call by the end of the day or the next day at the latest. I waited a couple of weeks and returned it for an in store credit . Never will I purchase an IHealth product.

  • Souds quite a lot like the Withings scale (which is quite a lot pricier, but I think it looks nicer).
