Italy To Require Climate Change Education in Schools – new law will make climate education mandatory

Part of overcoming climate change is understanding climate change. You can’t make good choices if you have bad information. To this end, Italy has made it mandatory for children to learn about it in school so that the country as a whole can meet climate goals.

Educating the youth will help ensure that when they are out on their own, the keep the momentum rolling to live sustainable lives. The education on the matter will be blended into the more traditional subjects.

Italy is the first nation to take such a bold step. Children in many countries around the world certainly learn about the environment and conservation as part of a normal curriculum but this move puts the climate front and center.
