Ivan Golubev’s Password Recovery Suite helps retrieve lost iPhone and iPad passwords [Freeware]

Ivan Golubev spends a lot of his time creating commercial software for people who have lost or forgotten their passwords and need to get back into their software. He’s so far produced products to help you retrieve ZIP, MS Office, Excel and other passwords, all designed for Windows users with a problem.

His freeware offering, however, provides an interesting new slant, since it’s designed to help people retrieve the passwords from their iOS device backups. Ivan Golubev’s Password Recovery Suite (or IGPRS to its friends) will retrieve iOS 4.x and 5.x backup passwords, as well as Blackberry backups and even WPA/WPA2 WiFi handshake passwords. So if you find you can’t log on to your wireless home router any more and you’ve forgotten the password, this could be useful.

The freeware uses conventional brute force and dictionary attacks to sniff out the password, so you can expect to wait a LONG time for any resolution once in use. One other thing to remember is you’ll need a particularly robust Windows PC to make this stuff work, because the processing power it takes can overheat your machine faster than you can say ‘Holy Hot Pockets, Batman’.

It’s free for personal use, but if you need it for business purposes you’ll need to apply for a commercial license.

  • Sounds promising. iPhones pass codes are easy to read but if this really works for Blackberry I will definitely add a link.
