Learn to make sound absorption panels for better audio

If you’re serious about having high-quality audio in your living room, you may find yourself spending a lot of money on a good sound system. However, having some of the best speakers around isn’t the only way to make everything sound better. Much of what you hear has to do with the room you’re in, and how the sound waves bounce off of walls and other surfaces. One cheap and very effective way to get a better sound is by making some sound absorption panels.

Over at AcousticsFreq they have put together a great guide on how to build your own sound absorption panels. Now, you might think that these are meant to block sound from getting into other rooms, which isn’t the case. They’re actually meant to improve the quality of the audio in the room they are installed, by absorbing certain sound waves that could otherwise lead to muddy audio. If you follow the guide, you can figure out what types of panels to use for your room, and how to make them for a fraction of the cost that you would pay for professionally built ones. If you’re a true audiophile, this is definitely a project worth looking into.
