Life-Phorm Positioning Device clamps scary alien horror to our innocent gadgets

Sometimes you’ve got to hand it to the designers, as they go out on a limb and produce something menacing for every day consumer use. We’re thinking specifically about Lada cars here, but we could also be in mind of things like Darth Vader toothpaste or even Freddie Krueger’s Cordless Screwdriver Set.

This Life-Phorm Positioning Device, which is designed to keep our tablet computers, cameras and smartphones rock steady and stable for our viewing pleasure is a case in point. It looks like something you’d find in an abandoned alien spacecraft uncovered during the first manned mission to Mars, but all it’s supposed to do is make us happy. Kind of Alf meets E.T. meets Event Horizon?

We’re not saying we’re particularly scared, no sirree, we’re made of much tougher stuff, but we’d just like to comment that it might have been more valuable if it was painted pink. Or bright purple. Or something. Anyway, for you macho deep space lovers, this little beauty is available for just $69.99, complete with adjustable joints, clamps, hook ends and rubber grips. Just don’t sleep with it next to your bed at night, OK? Just in case.
