Lockbin. A free online email service which encrypts your precious words to prevent nasty people seeing what you’ve written. Type message, think of a secret word, your recipient receives link to message, types in secret word and voila, access granted. The hassle is you’ve got to tell your mate what the word is by phone or pigeon post, but hey, it’s a small price to pay for secret squirrel stuff, especially when it comes to transmitting stuff like credit card numbers or server logins etc.
Oh and guys, if you use a captcha system, do try and make it work properly, eh? If the graphic shows a capital letter, it would be really useful if the system recognised that as valid when you entered it in, rather than waiting for a lower case letter. Just a comment. Lockbin lets you send encrypted email messages, so that you don’t have to send things like credit card information or other sensitive data through your personal email account….It’s free because we want a lot of people to use it. For now, we don’t expect to make any money on this, but at some point we might offer new features that make it worth a few bucks.
