A number of companies (especially Apple) will have you believe that the mouse is on its way out as the best way to control your computer. Multitouch gestures on a trackpad are the future, they say. Having used a MacBook with a trackpad for a while, I’d say that they might be onto something, though the mouse is by no means dead. Adding a trackpad to your PC isn’t the easiest thing to do, as Apple’s Magic Trackpad is one of the only offerings on the market.
Enter Logitech’s Wireless Touchpad. Think of it as a $50 plastic version of Apple’s device. It may not have the brushed aluminum look, or operate via Bluetooth (it uses a wireless dongle instead), but it can do everything that the Magic Trackpad can. Honestly, I like the black look better, anyway. If you’ve been thinking about getting a trackpad, I’d say this is your best bet.
