Logitech MX Revolution Mouse – hands on a rodent

Logitechmxrevolutionmouse

Hmm…I’ve just started using a Logitech MX Revolution wireless mouse after my Kensington Expert Mouse Pro trackball died on me (what a useless, over-priced lump of junk. Cost me over $100.00 in the Westlake Fry’s and has fallen apart in just over a year). Anyway, first impressions are that this is probably the best Logitech mouse ever. It installed instantly (which for wireless is a bit wow) and I love the freewheel scroll, it’s a superb anti-RSI feature, which makes power browsing a real pleasure. I haven’t installed any of the Logitech software, so it’s just got the bare bones functionality, but it’s still cool. Just thought I’d let y’all know, especially since I’m a long time trackball fanatic. It’s not cheap – about £72.90 over here – but definitely worth a look if you’re in the market for a new mouse.

Smarter, faster, and fully-loaded, the MX Revolution gives you powerful new controls that will streamline the way you work. Logitech´s innovative MicroGear Precision Scroll Wheel lets you fly through long documents at hyperspeed, or switch to precise click-to-click scrolling for navigating lists, slides, and image collections. Toggle between open documents with the convenient Quick-Flip thumb wheel, or search the Web by highlighting a word or phrase and pressing the Search button.

  • The latest Logitech mice are very nice. I was getting fed up with the lag of my MX5000 bluetooth set (mostly from the keyboard). I really liked the mouse on it though, which seems to be the predecessor for the MX Revolution.

After reading some reviews I went and picked up the G7. I love it. It also installed with no effort, the response is great and I really dig the battery swap method they have for it.
