Dining room tables are an afterthought to the geek minded. Don’t lie. It’s the place you eat dinner or where your mail collects until you start to wonder if you paid that credit card bill this month or not. But maybe you you’ll pay a bit more attention to it with the LumiGram Luminous Table Runner. Instead of dragging out those boring old plastic place mats, just use these awesome fiber optic alternatives to give your dinner parties that extra bit of pazzow.

The idea of table runners probably isn’t that exciting, it’s just a thing you put on the table (like junk mail), but this runner is designed to turn your humble table into something a  little bit special. The fiber optics just glow baby. Exactly like that sad Christmas tree you put on your office desk every year, but with much more cool.

The runner is powered by AAA batteries, which should maintain the glow for around 30 hours or so, and comes in three standard sizes to fit just about any table. However, if you have a dining table that seats 25 people or more you can contact them for a special order (we’re looking at you Mr Gates). It’s hand wash only though. A switch controls the lighting in the fabric so during the day, normal runner, at night futuristic dining extravaganza. The LumiGram Luminous Table Runner is 129.00 Euros.
