Lumir C – the LED light that works on beeswax

Lumir C alone

Tea lights are everywhere. You probably have a bag of them sitting forgotten in a drawer somewhere. They’re great for decoration, not so great at providing actual illumination. Lumir C converts your nearly useless tea light candle into a light you can actually use.

This lamps looks like an upside down pint glass. You just place it over the candle and it will turn the LED on. That’s it. There are no batteries, nothing needs to be charged, just, light. You can even use small scented candles with this for an added bonus. Developed as a solution for places that don’t have access to electricity on a regular basis, or even at all.

Lumir C all

This light works in two modes (even without electricity we have modes). The first is a mood light that is similar to the normal glow of the candle. The second is a spotlight that is a brighter glow perfect for reading in the dark. Currently the project is being Kickstarted but it has met its goal. If you’re interested, then you can nab one for $69.
