Make a padded drawer for your tools

It takes a lot of work to organize your garage or workshop. I’m actually in the midst of such a task, so I can understand. One thing I’ve been looking for is a nice tool chest that can hold all of my screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches and such in a neat, orderly fashion. There are plenty of them out there, however, they cost a good bit of money. Thankfully you can make your own for very little, by following the directions found here.

If you already have a set of drawers that you’d like to use, then you can easily make some padded drawer-liners that hold the shape of each individual tool. All you’re going to need is an old t-shirt, some expanding foam, newspaper and something really heavy. Just arrange your tools in the drawer, lay down the old shirt (make sure it’s big enough to completely cover the inside of the drawer) and spray the foam. Then lay down the newspaper and set something heavy on it. It helps if you have a board to keep everything nice and even. Once the foam has dried, flip It over and you’ll have a professional-looking holder for your tools.
