Make your own one-of-a-kind t-shirt using household items

Have you ever had an idea for an amusing t-shirt design, but didn’t think it was worth the effort of trying to have a screen printer make one up? It can be rather expensive, and unless it’s a really good idea, not worth it. Now if you still are bent on making the shirt yourself, you can try buying a kit with printable transfer paper, but again, that can still be expensive. But still, there is a method for accomplishing this, mostly using things you have around your house.

The project outlined by one Instructables user involved making a light box out of a clear storage container and some push-on lights. Then, print out your design (this project is best with a single-colored design) and set it on the light box. Put your shirt over the paper with the design and tape it into place. Now use a permanent marker (or a fabric marker, if you want to spend the extra money) to trace the outline of your design using dots (drawing in the lines to start can cause the fabric to stretch, thus skewing the picture). Once you’ve got all of the dots, simply connect them and fill it in. Now you’ve got your very own one-of-a-kind t-shirt.
