Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware – free malware killer works well

Malwarebytesantimalware

Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware (aka MBAM) is a freeware malware, spyware and trojan remover. It’s simple, fast and seems to work well, which is great for free right? There is a Pro version for all you pro type people too. Cool tool (need a tag for that).

Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware is designed to quickly detect, destroy, and prevent malware, spyware, trojans. Can detect and remove malware that even the most well-known Anti-Virus and Anti-Malware applications on the market today cannot…The interface is plain and simple to use. Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware scan system allows performing a quick scan or a full scan, depending on your needs.

  • Just get a Mac and be done with all this stuff.

  • Sorry Ron, those days are over. https://www.redferret.net/?p=11892.

    Oh and see – http://tinyurl.com/5qmbrc

The problem is that malware delivery has changed dramatically over the past 2 years, and now most of it seems to arrive via a browser drive-by, which means that any computer running a web browser is vulnerable without the right protection.

Now I’ll absolutely grant that the Mac is inherently more secure than a Windows XP machine, but Vista? Pfaff…no way. 99% of the annoyances of Vista stem from its default Draconian security settings.

  • Here’s my unqualified and non-compensated endorsement. I got the horrible “Antivirus 2009” trojan. Only Malwarebytes could handle it.

(The trojan disables all antivirus and spyware apps, and restricts access to the web.)

By getting on another computer and downloading Malwarebytes and moving it on a thumb drive, I was able to get rid of the trojan after many hours of trying.

I got invaluable help from their forum users.

BTW: “Antivirus 2009” is still around and getting smarter. So you might want to bookmark this site on multiple computers.

  • Same here… Antivirus 2009. I’m pretty embarrassed actually that I got this because I wasn’t using safe surfing practices and I know better. Malware Bytes was the ONLY thing that got rid of it for me. I liked it so much, I bought the company. Well, honestly, I just bought the product. I don’t regret it one bit.

  • Yeah MalwareBytes has popped everywhere recently and is getting good write-ups. I’ve just added it to my USB antivirus-for-silly-family-members-toolkit.

  • Malwarebytes Anti-Malware is a surprisingly effective freeware antimalware tool. It's a relatively speedy malware remover, with the quick scan taking about 8 minutes even with other high-resource programs running.
