Mini X Android TV Box converts your television into an Android Smart TV

MiniXAndroidTVBox3

Right now it’s no good just having yourself a television, it’s got to be a smart one. What that means, of course, varies from person to person. To your old Aunt Agatha it probably means it’s got a fancy remote control. To your geek mate, nothing less than a Dilythium powered 70 inch will do. But for the rest of us mere mortals, ‘smart’ tends to indicate an ability to connect to the Internet in some way.

This new Mini X Android TV Box is a tiny, but scarily sophisticated micro-computer running the Android operating system, which can not only connect your television to your home wireless WiFi network, but also supports USB external storage so you can store and replay content as you like. It comes with a full complement of tech on-board, including 4 GB of NAND memory, HDMI output and a 1080P video decoder for high resolution display on your flat screen television. They’ve even managed to cram a memory card reader into the thing.

It’s smaller than a box of cigarettes, will handle just about every video format you can think of (including AVI, MKV, VOB and FLV) and ships with an IR remote control for some kick back couch surfing fun. The price for all this Einsteinian cleverness is a very reasonable $89.00 which is definitely cheaper than hooking up your laptop to watch Hulu or iPlayer.
