We’re not really sure whether the marketing folk in this company really thought things through when they came up with the Mirror Screen Protector for the Samsung S3 phone. Sure, the idea of sticking a thin film onto your touchscreen which is mirrored, so you can use it to pretty your face at important moments seems like a good idea, but what about being able to view the phone itself, to send texts or make a call?
The developers of the product claim that the plastic film makes no difference to the legibility of the screen when it is lit up, but if you read the user reviews on the product, you’ll see that it apparently doesn’t work that well in bright sunlight.
Fairly obvious really, if you think about it. Reflecting light is bound to adversely impact readability, even if your screen is ultra bright. We guess it could be useful for folk who do a lot of voice activated text messaging or calls, and who don’t need to look at their screen so often, but for the rest of us, maybe just a gimmick?
